Here are the pictures I promised from the first year's harvest. I know it was small, but I have high hopes for next year!

This blog is dedicated to the endeavor of growing hops to be used in the Home Brewing Process. In order to address the Hops shortage; I was asked to grow, harvest, and dry hops to be used in my friend Doug's Home Brews.

Mike, that looks close to the amount of harvest that I received my first year on my Magnum, which barely survived. My first year Fuggles, on the other hand, yield 42 DRIED ounces from 6 plants (an average of 7 oz. DRIED per plant, and that doesn't count the few times that I used wet hops for some 'harvest' ales. My point is, for both you and anyone else reading this: don't let that small harvest get you down, because it should improve a good deal next year. If you're not already a member of my 'Grow-Hops' group, I warmly invite all to join us: we currently have 2,572 members. Visit my web-portal at www.tinyurl.com/29zr8r for more info.
Cheers.
